For the Music Lovers
BY DJ YAMZ
A breath and a pause, and the biggest love from Tema! 💚🧡
February: the month of love, vibe-catching and shot-shooting (for the romantically inclined 🥰😋).
Amidst the many celebrating love the world over, I, on the other hand, had a quiet Valentine’s and in my blissful solitude, I remembered a likkle vibe I caught at the start of this year that I forgot to share with you 😉. It seems even when I don’t intend to catch new vibes, the vibes just keep following meh! 😆
Anyway, I thought I’d use this issue to talk about this sweet vibe I caught/made with SILVASTONE, a charismatic UK-based artist/producer and songwriter, and also share some updates on the two projects I’ll be dropping this year.
Happy reading!!
Love,
Yamz

Catching Vibes!
The day I met SILVASTONE was supposed to be like many others at the turn of a new year in Ghana—which typically involves a heady stream of visits from diaspora-based family.
SILVASTONE was due to visit my family here, in Tema, before heading back to the UK. Prior to meeting him on that day, I knew very little about him. The only thing I vaguely knew of him was that he was a relative of ours who ‘was also into music.’
Over lunchtime servings of delicious jollof, I learnt more about him and his friend, Karen (aka Ms. Miles) and it didn’t take long for me to begin to enjoy their company. Shortly after lunch, the three of us made our way to my studio where the maestro proceeded to give me a masterclass in music production! I guess a gift/love for music runs in the family 😁
😆 you can see how gassed I was in the video!

🎵 Project Updates! 🎶
2 SWEET! (fka STADIUM STATUS!) with Psalmyst Sax
The Winds of Change…🍃
Between distantly related events that were unknowingly conspired by the songstress of life Rama Brew and her bosom buddy, artist Abena Kwakwa, I faced an unprecedented situation:
A New Vibe
The latest version of the project’s cover that Abena shared with me compelled me to change the project’s name and modify some of the project’s sonic elements. When it comes to my creative work, I have to tell you that it is no mean feat to get me to change my mind on key elements such as project titles and sonics especially when I’m past the recording and production phase. However, Abena’s visuals (which I feel are a true representation of the project’s vibe) just seemed at odds with my initial direction. Her visuals also reminded me that this project was intended to be one of low stakes, pure enjoyment and all-round feel-good vibes, something I feel haven’t done so far or enough of as a music producer. And so, I’ve welcomed the change in direction.
A New Name
I also decided to let go of the STADIUM STATUS! title and rename the project, 2 SWEET! as a play on/reference to the collaborative effort between Psalmyst Sax and I on this project and also to give a louder shoutout to Rama’s gripping feature on the song, 2 SWEET, which I’m deeply in love with and—in my opinion—is the project’s standout track.
Project Release Date: TBD
I still have a little bit to do with respect to figuring out a release date but rest assured that the tape will be out before you know it! :D
Some Good News
Thankfully, under the steady hands of music all-rounder, Masta H, we’re already through the mixing and mastering process for the project.
C3 WAVS - An EP with Avit
In my last issue of 2023, I mentioned that I had an untitled project with Avit in the works.
I’m happy to share that this project also seems to be shaping up well and we’re really looking forward to putting out! We’re already through with recording and production for this project and are deep in the post-production stage.
We decided to name the project C3 WAVS, as an ode to the coastal suburb of Community 3 in Tema, which we both grew up in and was the meeting ground for our budding creative relationship which began a few years ago.
The project is being mixed and mastered by ethereal Ghanaian producer, Spc.Gh.st and I’m hoping we can work with the wildy creative designer, freddysigns to develop the project’s visuals.
In the coming weeks, I’m sure we’ll also figure out release details for this project and you’ll certainly be first to know once we do.
Sit tight…
So I share all this to say, we dey on am! New vibes will be coming your way real soon!
Until Next Time! 👋🏿
That’s it for this issue!
Until we link again! Breathe easy!! 🐉
